Dear Adi,

I love serendipity! I just returned from a performance in IL. One of the
tales I shared was the story of Chien Nang. It can be found in Charms and
Changelings by Ruth Manning Sanders. There is also a wonderful online adaptation by
Texas storyteller, Mary Grace Ketner. It is a beautiful, poignant story of
family, love, loss and reconciliation. Mary Grace is very generous with her
permission to share her adaptation.

If the children in your show are very young it probably won't be appropriate
but you can be the judge when you read it. Go to Mary Grace's site at: Chien
Nag http://talesandlegends.net/Chien.html to read her version. Good luck.

Warm wishes,
Karen
