How about The Cricket Warrior?

It is a Chinese tale retold in a book by Margaret and Raymond Chang.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0689506058/qid=1105399143/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-1799710-9468711?v=glance&s=books

It's a story of love, and courage, and the strength of family.

I thought of it because one of my students was reading it today and came up
to me to talk about it.

Seems to go well with Chinese medicine, too...

Ann
