MIME-Version: 1.0 Hello, We're accepting workshop proposals for THE POWER OF WORDS conference set for Aug. 6-9, 2005 at Goddard College in Plainfield, Vt., and we especially would like to bring in more workshops focused on storytelling, spoken word performance and other manner of the spoken word. Please consider sending in a proposal, and especially joining us for this celebratory and exploratory conference. Conference description and workshop proposal form below. Blessings, Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, Coordinator, Transformative Language Arts Goddard College THE POWER OF WORDS: LIBERATING YOURSELF AND THE WORLD THROUGH THE SPOKEN, WRITTEN AND SUNG WORD A conference at Goddard College, Aug. 6-9, 2005, Plainfield, VT. Explore how we can use our words – written, spoken or sung – to make community, deepen healing, witness one another, wake ourselves up, and foster empowerment and transformation. Sponsored by Goddard College’s Transformative Language Arts degree program, this conference features experiential workshops on a wide range of the expressive language arts, panels on right livelihood and certification and training options, performances and celebrations, an open mic, and time to write, walk in the woods, and seek greater freedom for ourselves and our communities through the power of words. Conference costs: $175 early bird special by June 1/$200 afterwards. Room and board available at the college for an additional, and quite reasonable, fee. A number of partial scholarships are available, including scholarships for people of color through the Florence Roxanne Fund. Transformative Language Arts (TLA), part of Goddard College’s individualized MA program, is a 48-hour MA degree focused on social and personal transformation through the spoken and written word.
