MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit All, It is interesting that we are discussing this subject. I am doing my Master's thesis on personal storytelling as a tool for conflict transformation. My premise was basically that I saw that a lot of conflict had its foundations in the conflicting parties being stuck in the stories of "I am wounded, only my wounds are real, and I am allowed to punish you because I am wounded." I found that telling one's personal story can help move conflicting parties from this stuck place, but only under cert ain conditions. Primarily, the story has to be witnessed as that person's sharing of his/her personal truth. The storyteller must feel safe, meaning that their truth will not be questioned (disagreement is okay, but you cannot deny the storyteller's experience as being theirs), and there must be no political agenda or blame attached to such sharing. Would love to hear more.
