Hello Arianna,

After sept 11, laura simms and others developed a wonderful collection of
stories fdesigned to help children deal with the trauma and uncertainty of
the situation. That whole collection, along with helpful essays and
weblinks, can be found at the healing story alliance website,
healingstory.org. Just clik on Stories for chilren in Crisis.

Also the recent Forum offering provided by Sydney Solis is called the Three
Companions, and it is about fear. That's also on the healing story website,
under Forum.

Good luck!

Joan Stockbridge

of terrorism the children have been asking me about the situation abroad.
They are worried about what will happen to them if they can't get to the
hospital in time of crisis. And they are worried about their parents and
family abroad. I can't talk to them about the political situation because
often their parents and I don't see eye to eye on the war. I am looking for
stories that will help the children understand the situation abroad and at
home. In addition, I am looking for stories that will calm their fears
about not getting to the hospital if the city shuts down. I guess I am also
looking for tactics about how to tell it is okay to be afraid but don't let
the fear lead your life.
