----- Original Message ----- From: Liz Mangual To: Bob Kanegis Sent: Monday, January 20, 2003 9:19 AM Subject: Thoughts on forgiveness Wow forgiveness, what a difficult thing to do! I think forgiveness = opens doors, creates a pathway for a possibility of healing to take = place. Someone has to take the initiative, the first step, but only = when 'they' feel fully ready to honestly forgive....let go of past = hurts, injury, pain, etc. However though, I think that the initiator = has to 'initiate' with some level of maturity. Maturity comes from = being able to differentiate, after having forgiven, whether the person = being forgiven is ready to enter into a reciprocal transformation for = healing to begin. But if the forgiver then perceives more injury coming = towards them from the forgiven setting boundaries is crucial, so as not = to allow more injury to occur. I think that when forgivenesss truly = happens everyone can begin to be healed, 'the victim' and the one who = injures. Just thought I'd share these thoughts. Warm regards everyone, Liz Mangual | ||
