Dear Tracy--

Over the holidays I met a young graduate student in the field of urban
planning. She told me about the burgeoning new field of "digital
storytelling." I gather this involves giving communities tools to reflect on
their own identities, especially through the use of recording devices like
digital cameras and videocameras. There is a lot of material about this,
including case histories, at the Berkeley Center for Digital Storytelling

http://www.storycenter.org/

MIT also has a dynamic program ("The Center for Reflective Community
Practice") re which more material is available on the web at

http://web.mit.edu/crcp/program.html

Fascinating and inspiring stuff!
