From: Dvora Shurman To: Laura Simms Sent: Friday, January 03, 2003 9:40 PM I spend so much time, "socially", listening to the survivor stories of my friends here in Israel. I sometimes think they have not left the scene they tell about at length. Of course there is an organization here to help such people therapeutically, but that's not it. They need to tell their stories, especially to others who have been there. For that reason I had to go to Auschwitz when I visited Poland, as my survivor friends would not have forgiven me if I hadn't gone to see where they had been. The Intensive Journaling I do is also very valuable in evoking the stories without my judging or directly relating to their content. Dvora Shurman following stories around the world > | ||
