To Arni and all, I haven't been able to keep up with the list postings for more than a few weeks because of the demands of the season (my retail business helps support my storytelling). For those of you, like Arni, who are new to the list and the field of storytelling and healing, be sure to go to the Healing Story Alliance website at Healing Story Alliance or www.HealingStory.org. It is the Healing Story Alliance (HSA), a special interest group of the National Storytelling Network, that sponsors this listserv. On our site, you can read the newsletters we have published with wonderful articles and reports of activity in the field. Also be sure to look at Forum Stories within the site. Each month or so, a new story by a storyteller working in an area of "applied" storytelling is posted. Each storyteller uses story and his/her skill as an artist to offer people in many different places of challenge in their lives, the possibilities of comfort, healing and strength inherent in the stories and in themselves. We each have the opportunity to respond to the Forum stories personally and to tell them to others and report back to the group. The conversation there can be quite enlightening! As you become familiar with all that HSA does, I hope you will want to join if you haven't already and become active in the organization that serves this community of storytellers. Our board and volunteers contribute time and skills and enjoy the spirit of coming together on this project of the heart, mind and soul (bodies too!). We welcome additional volunteers. We also welcome feedback from you, the community we serve, about your needs and how we can work together to grow our base of knowledge and skill. Thanks to all for joining the conversation.
