Dyer is also a bit glib for my taste. Perhaps what he's trying to say is that we should give up our "wounded" stories. I'm thinking of research a Canadian gerontologist did about a decade ago where he analyzed the reminiscings of older people and catagorized them. He found six types of reminiscers. Some were conducive to healthy aging; some were not. The wounded storytellers were certainly stuck in their personal history whereas the integrative storytellers used both positive and negative exper iences of their past to create a new story. I have the specific reference is someone would lke it! Blessings, Rosann -- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now | ||
