This poem was shared with me by Zoe Avstreih of Naropa Institute for my Dad's funeral. I do not know how she came by it or who wrote it. It has been a comfort in her life. I hope it helps you: "When I die If you need to weep Cry for someone Walking the street beside you. And when you need me Put your arms around others And give them what you need to give me. You can love me most by letting Hands touch hands, and Souls touch souls. You can love me most by Sharing your joys Multiplying your good deeds. You can love me most by Letting me live in your eyes And not in your mind. And when you say Kaddish for me Remember what your Torah teaches, Love doesn't die People do. So when all that's left of me is love Give me away. (Kaddish is Jewish prayer of rememberance for the dead) (Consider also Dylan Thomas' poem "And Death Shall Have No Dominion") _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx | ||
