Dear Dewey, I would love to see what you come up with re: evaluation tools. Pls. keep me posted. To answer your question about my work, I teach storytelling to undergrads and am doing Ph.D. research on storytelling and values. So rather than an expert on any of this, I am a student and a researcher. I have a grant to work with the International Storytelling Center (National Storytelling Network sister org., in case you're not so familiar with these orgs.) to bring together the most prominent names in conflict transformation and peace-building with storytellers doing this work. The plan is to develop a curriculum and eventually teach this work through the Center. I'm developing a bibliography and other materials that I hope will be of help. I am also coordinator of HSA's Social Action Committee in order to better learn and communicate about this, as well as storytelling with regard to the environment, social justice and other social issues. At this point, what I ask of people who are interested in the Committee is to discuss these issues on the listserve, contribute ideas/articles to the newsletter or journal (through me if you wish), and to let me know of any human or written resources you have found regarding this work--including your own. Based on your background, your storytelling and community-building, etc. would be invaluable to all of us. Or, if you prefer, I will give you a call to discuss. All the best, Caren Neile | ||
