site Hi Everyone - Fran Stallings wrote such a nice announcement to Storytell about her story that has just been posted on the Healing Story Alliance web site, that I thought I could not improve upon this - so, in Fran's words, here's the latest story we have to offer you all... Allison Cox Wise ones, Mark Bassett has just posted a new story for discussion and informal retellings on the Forum page of the Healing Story Alliance website http://www.healingstory.org/. It's "Shingebiss and the North Wind," which I have mentioned occasionally on Storytell. It is one of the most powerful stories I know for eliciting the "storylistening trance". Although I usually perform it with accompaniment (and Mark added an MP3 file of the chant!!), it is also very soothing when told plain. Whether you're snowed in or not, you might like to take a look at the nice job Mark did with this website. In addition to this month's story, there is intro/essay material about it, and a place to add your comments to an ongoing discussion. Stay warm, Fran where snow is actually falling in Oklahoma. This afternoon I told Shingebiss to a group of frantically excited kids who couldn't wait to get out of school to play in that snow -- just like on the day I first tried telling the story outside our family.
