Dear All, Reading Andre's great news about the 100th member I thought I would celebrate the occasion by introducing myself and inviting the other listers to also tell us about themselves. I am here after sharing my own and co-co-listers' stories on an e-list Andre used to facilitate on mysticism and contemplation through the last five years. The experience has convinced me that telling one's story does indeed help one find one's Voice (and keep on refining it) and when this is done in a group perhaps even the listeners by merely participating in listening to the I-AMness of the story teller/sharers are moved in the same direction. So when I heard of this list being on story-telling and healing, I was thankful at the opportunity to look at this dynamic especially through the eyes of experienced professionals as well as other amateur lovers of story and literature like myself. I am originally from Turkey, (live in Seattle now) so English is my second language; I hope it won't be too much of an obstacle in communication. I have been writing for myself for years without any specific purpose and just recently have decided to venture into taking writing more seriously and have taken some non-credit college courses in writing. Essays and poetry are my favorite styles currently, however I do not see these forms necessarily outside of "story" (even if it is stretching it a little!). My formal education has been in media and telecommunications, and I am currently co-starting a company with the mission of creating affordable biofeedback technology at the mass level and increasing awareness of the fruits of biofeedback technology. I am also expecting my first baby and am interested in the role of stories in infant/child development. Looking forward to learning from and with all of you... And thank you Andre once again for yet another great sharing platform... and congratulations for reaching the monthly goal in a matter of few days! cheers, Nazli | ||
