Pre-conference Event

Pathways wishes to invite you to a relaxing evening to meet other conference participants and to learn about Pathways' work. Come and sit by the fire and enjoy a few snacks and lots of good conversation. Pathways is an educational nonprofit organization dedicated to the sharing of complimentary healthcare with those who are dealing with health issues. Antonio Sacre, Ricardo Provencio,Loren Niemi, Dovie Thomason Sickles Truth telling and Forgiveness: Story, Culture and Change Noon- 1 PM Lunch provided 4:15-5:15 PM Storytelling demonstrations and Showcases In these one-hour sessions presenters will share a 10-25 minute story and describe the use of the story in the healing process. 5-6:45 PM Dinner out on the Town 7-7:15 PM Welcome 7:30-9 PM Community Discussion and the Sharing of Our Stories In this evening session the Friday workshop presenters will explore through story and discussion the way storytelling helps to create the conditions necessary for healing and health. 9:30-11 PM Socializing and Story Circles This is an opportunity for informal socializing and participation in several stories circles focused on different aspects of healing. In the story circles participants have the opportunity to share their experiences and stories of healing. Rooms will be set up throughout the hotel for this time. Saturday, February 26, 2005 8:00-9 AM A Brief Introduction to the Day 9 - Noon Half-Day Workshops Saturday consists of ten three-hour workshops that will be experiential practical and skill building. Each workshop will be presented twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Noon -1 PM Lunch Provided 1-4 PM Repeat of Morning Sessions 4:15 - 5:15 PM Storytelling demonstrations and Showcases In these one-hour sessions presenters will share a 10-25 minute story and describe the use of the story in the healing process. 5-6:45 PM Dinner out on the Town 7-9 PM Community Discussion and the Sharing of Our Stories In this evening session the Saturday workshop presenters will explore through story and discussion the way storytelling is a humanizing factor within their disciplines and in the world. 9-10 PM Social Hour (refreshments provided) 9:30-11 PM Socializing and Story Circles This is an opportunity for informal socializing and participation in several stories circles focused on different aspects of healing. In the story circles participants have the opportunity to share their experiences and stories of healing. Rooms will be set up throughout the hotel for this time. Sunday February 27, 2005 7-8:15 AM Breakfast Provided 8:30-8:45 PM General Session 9-11:45 PM Break Out Sessions Facilitated groups based on topics as selected by the participants will provide opportunities for those with similar interest to network, to reflect on ideas that have arisen during the conference and to decide on possible future actions.
