Join the discussion and help envision ways to expand, deepen and bring our knowledge forward into more arenas. This conference is geared towards medical and mental health personnel, spiritual caregivers, hospice workers, community leaders, storytellers and all others with an interest in the healing power of story.
We have applied for 12.5 CEU’s for both LICSW’s and LMHC’s.

Throughout the weekend there will be time for networking, walking the labyrinth or personal reflection time. Rolling Ridge Retreat Center also offers massages, Reiki, etc for those who want to augment their experience.
Presenters:
Lani Peterson: Psychologist, storyteller and coach, Lani has been learning and teaching about story as a healing art for over ten years. Through her work with individuals, groups, schools, hospitals, prisons and hospices she continues to explore story as a powerful medium for personal growth, connection and change.
Lorna MacDonald Czarnota: holds a Masters degree in Special Education and certification in Trauma Counseling from the University of New York State at Buffalo. Her healing storytelling focus is with at-risk teens, abused woman, and community and personal identification building following disaster and trauma. She is the founder and president of Crossroads Story Center, Inc.
Nancy Mellon: Teacher, artist, storyteller and psychotherapist, Nancy has specialized in healing through the arts for 25 years, teaching widely in the US and abroad. Author of Storytelling with Children, and Storytelling and the Art of Imagination, her newest book, Body Eloquence, won the 20008 US Books Best Books Award in the field of Alternative Medicine.
Elisa Pearmain: Psychotherapist, professional storyteller and award-winning author of two books, including Doorways to the Soul: 52 Wisdom Tales from around the World, Elisa tells bullying prevention stories in schools, and healing stories for adults in performance, workshops and her therapy practice. Elisa is working on a CD on forgiveness through story.
Gail Rosen: Storyteller, hospice consultant, educator and bereavement facilitator, Gail tells stories that explore the "big questions," about life, death, and meaning. Her work serves people in grief support groups, retreats and memorial services, as well as offering training and support for those who work in hospice, pastoral care and related fields.
Laura Simms: Renowned storyteller, writer and humanitarian is presently working in Haiti with Mercy Corps. She is a senior research fellow at Rutgers University Human Rights Center. Author of five books and numerous recordings, she consults on major educational, humanitarian and healing projects. Her most recent book, Our Secret Territory: the Essence of Storytelling, is published by Sentient Books (2011).
Joan Stockbridge: Storyteller, writer, educator and group facilitator, Joan regularly leads narrative groups in mental health and recovery settings. She co-authored a transformative curriculum for use in transitional programs. Author of three collections of folktales, Joan is currently being trained as a Spiritual Director and is developing story materials for use in churches and other sacred settings.
Fran Yardley: Storyteller, retreat director and workshop leader, Fran is committed to exploring the diverse ways in which storytelling can be used for healing. She is Executive Director of Creative Healing Connections, which provides creative experiences to promote healing and growth and co-founder and 12 year co-leader of the Adirondack Arts and Healing Retreat for women with cancer and chronic illness. For the last three years she has also led Arts and Reintegration retreats for women veterans.
